Norwich is taking a bold step forwards with the Norwich Solar System.

The surge in energy prices, coupled with net zero goals presents an urgent opportunity to explore new forms of low carbon energy for Norwich. The Norwich Solar System will transform unused business rooftops into solar energy generators.

Our collaboration with the Norwich BID will establish a local energy community for Norwich providing businesses with lower-cost, locally sourced, sustainable energy.

Drivers

  1. Cost sharing and bargaining power.

Options are being created to pool financial resources, thereby reducing the individual financial burden on each company.

  2. Access to expertise and resources.

By collaborating, businesses can tap into a broader range of knowledge, skills, and experience, enhancing the overall quality of the solar installation and potentially speeding up project completion.

  3. Shared learning and innovation.

Collaboration fosters an environment of shared learning and innovation, with the exchange of ideas, best practices, and lessons learned from previous projects.

Small and Medium Enterprises

We do all surveys and secure all required permissions, free of charge. If viable, we can fully fund the installation, and we take care of all lifetime costs, including operation, maintenance, billing and administration.

The power is sold to your building occupants, and any excess is traded within the Local Energy Community.

Local Authorities

Councils have a mandate to reduce emissions in your areas, whilst supporting economic growth and your local communities. We provide a method to achieve all three, with no public sector capital required.

We’re working with several local authorities, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and other local representative groups.

Support businesses keeping the economic activity local where possible

Save money by trading excess power from local P2P participants

Clean power is provided from nearby "out-of-town" renewable generators
