2025 is a big year for Colmore Business District latest project - creating a new energy community for Birmingham.
Colmore Business District is the commercial heart of Birmingham, with over 650 companies employing around 40,000 people and occupying approximately 5.6 million square feet of office space.
For Colmore BID's levy-paying businesses and landlords, increasing and unstable electricity costs matched with net-zero goals presents a real opportunity to explore new forms of low carbon energy in central Birmingham.
Birmingham generated solar is set to transform rooftops into local energy generators. Working in a newly formed partnership with ConsensusPower, Colmore BID and its neighbours want to establish Birmingham's Energy Community - providing businesses with lower-cost, locally sourced, sustainable energy.
