As Trustee/Director of Empower Community Foundation, I am responsible for the initial investment in ConsensusPower Trading plc. There is a hard-wired community benefit element to everything that ConsensusPower does and I'm responsible for ensuring the dissemination of those funds to the relevant communities, primarily through an online matching service called ActionFunder, of which I'm also a director.
What about ConsensusPower do you find compelling?
I identify myself as a social entrepreneur and have a golden rule, an acid test for any deal: If I'm sitting across a table from somebody, regardless of whether I'm ostensibly buying or selling, if I couldn't - knowing what I know - swap places and still do the deal, I walk away. I believe that ConsensusPower Trading is an expression of that golden rule, whether you're an energy user, generator or both. ConsensusPower could be thought of as an immune response to the deeply dysfunctional energy markets, that we are all currently subject to, and is an evolutionary leap in the right direction.
Fun facts
I've returned to Dartmoor after 42 years away. I love the wilderness, dogs, horses and nature in general.
